Blue Bird Flour

Price range: $6.99 through $13.99

If you are New Mexican, you’ve probably used Blue Bird flour before, or at least used the bags in some way. The classic look of these flour bags harkens back to a time long ago when resources were more scare, and people would even use these bags as children’s clothes. Nowadays, perhaps the most common use of Blue Bird flour bags is to hold pinon nuts, and we get a lot of people who come sell us pinon bringing them in these bags. This flour is great for making breads, tortillas, sopaipillas, frybread, and much more New Mexican goodness.

In case you want to make frybread for a nice snack with powdered sugar or a Navajo taco, I’ve found a great video Frybread recipe video on facebook! There’s also a great video up on youtube about making flour tortillas up on Youtube too! Check them both out if you are looking for ideas on what to make with Bluebird flour, and recipes to cook them with!
